Introduction to Scriptwriting:

Understanding the purpose and types of scripts — from films to digital media.

Storytelling Foundations & Script Elements Mastery:

Medium-Specific Training & Creative Expression:

Writing for Film, TV, YouTube, and Theatre with insights into formatting and structure.

Assignments

To enhance practical knowledge and reinforce weekly concepts, students will complete assignments that build progressively towards mastering scriptwriting. These are suitable for their age group and designed to be both fun and educational.

Month 1:

Week 1: Submit a written scene using the proper script format.
Week 2: Turn your character profile into a short scene idea.
Week 3: Submit a 2-person dialogue scene using learned techniques.
Week 4: Analyze and critique a chosen script scene in writing.

Month 2:

Week 5: Develop a full outline for a 3–5 minute film.
Week 6: Write a script for a tutorial-style YouTube video.
Week 7: Draft a stage scene including proper directions and dialogue.
Week 8: Edit an older assignment based on instructor feedback.

Month 3:

Week 9: Write a short story or script with a surprise twist ending.
Week 10: Prepare a written pitch and idea brief for your final project.
Week 11: Submit the first draft of your final script for peer review.
Week 12: Submit final revised script and self-reflection summary.
