Hands-On Projects

The course is full of interactive exercises and real-time database creation tasks to help students understand concepts through doing.

Project 1: School Student Database

Create a database for student records including name, class, marks, and attendance.

Project 2: Library Management System (Mini Version)

Design tables for books, authors, and issued books.
Use SQL queries to find overdue books and students who issued them.

Project 3: Online Shopping Inventory

Create tables for products, categories, and sales.
Retrieve product information and apply filters based on user input.

Project 4: Mini Banking Database

Simulate customer accounts and transactions.
Use queries to display balance history, last 5 transactions, etc.

Assignments

Weekly assignments are designed to reinforce logic building and syntax understanding in a structured, progressive manner.

Week 1–2:

Week 1:
- Define 10 real-world examples of database use
- Write SQL queries to create a basic student table
Week 2:
- Insert, update, and delete records from a sample table
- Create a table for a school event registration

Week 3–4:

Week 3:
- Write queries using WHERE, ORDER BY, and LIKE
- Create and query a mini product table for a store
Week 4:
- Perform JOINS on two related tables (students and marks)
- Group data using GROUP BY and show class-wise average marks

Week 5–6:

Week 5:

Build a full mini-library system with multiple linked tables
Perform CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete)

Week 6:

Write simple PL/SQL block to calculate total marks of a student
Submit the final project (any one of the 4 listed above)
