Students will be guided step-by-step from CorelDRAW basics to advanced creative techniques in digital graphic design.

Month 1 – CorelDRAW Fundamentals

Introduction to Vector Graphics vs Raster Graphics
Getting familiar with CorelDRAW workspace: Tools, Menus, Panels
Drawing and manipulating shapes (Rectangle, Ellipse, Polygon, Star, Spiral)
Using selection, transformation, and alignment tools
Working with colors, fills, and outlines

Month 2 – Intermediate Design Techniques

Introduction to typography: Working with text and fonts
Text wrapping, paragraph styles, and artistic text
Using layers and arranging objects
Grouping, combining, trimming, welding shapes
Working with gradients, drop shadows, and transparency

Month 3 – Advanced Projects and Printing Techniques

Designing professional layouts: Posters, business cards, brochures
Creating custom logos and vector illustrations
Importing/exporting and working with other file formats
Preparing files for digital and print production
Final Portfolio Compilation

Month 1 Projects:

Project 1: Creative Shape Art
Create a composition using only basic shapes and the shape tools.
Project 2: Poster Design for School Event
Use typography and design layout to make an attention-grabbing poster.

Month 2 Projects:

Project 3: Logo Design
Design a custom logo for a fictitious brand or school team.
Project 4: Brochure or Flyer Design
Create a double-sided flyer with images, layout, and formatting.

Month 3 Projects:

Project 5: Business Card Design
Design a professional business card using layers, shapes, and text.
Final Project: Student Portfolio Compilation
Students compile 3–4 of their best works into a digital portfolio.

Assignments

Weekly assignments ensure learning is reinforced with independent creative application.

Month 1 Assignments:

Draw and color a cartoon character using basic shapes
Create a symmetrical pattern using transformation tools

Month 2 Assignments:

Design an event invitation with text effects and borders
Convert an image into a vector illustration using CorelDRAW tools

Month 3 Assignments:

Design a packaging label or product tag
Submit your final portfolio (minimum 4 works) for assessment
